Disney Villains Nail Art Kit Review - Cruella De Vil

Another nail kit from Walgreens for $9.99!  Cruella De Vil.

How To Use!

Flatbrush: Use to create unique designs or gather glitter to lay onto nails with precision.
Foil Tape: Create accented patterns and shapes or outline polished nail designs. (silver)
Nail Art Sheet: Apply decorative stickers to create one-of-a-kind looks.
Faux Rhinestone Sticker Sheet: Use to create accents or jeweled looks.
HD Glitters: Using your favorite polish, elaborate on your nail art looks by layering the glitter or carefully place glitter shapes onto the nails to create intricate looks with textured effects.
Caviar Beads: Apply a thin layer of Top Coat and with polish still wet, dip nail into the bead container to create a textured 3D design.  Use on entire nail or just at the tips for cuticle lines for a French Caviar or Half Moon Caviar look.

You also get a mini bottle of Top Coat and a small Orange Wood Stick, one side pointed the other slanted.

Expert Tip: Apply a thin layer of Top Coat to seal in nail art particles.

Brand: KISS

The nail look they show is a base of pure white, a silver triangle, stripes of silver foil tape, and black hexagon glitter to make puppy spots!  How cute!

Cute!

Paw print nail stickers are adorable!

White and red puppy print nails stickers!  The stickers in the corners are swirly ornate designs.  These don't have rhinestones on them, it's just silver foil that kind of looks like rhinestones.

White: Pure white glitter with silver, sparkly like snow.
Red: Extremely bright sparkly red, slight hologram effect.
Orange:  Orange microglitter with gold hexagons.  This one definitely reminds me of Halloween and would look great on black polish.
Iridescent White: This glitter is made of iridescent shreds with a green/pink shine to it.
Silver:  Crazy silver diamonds with an intense iridescent color/hologram effect!
Black:  Intense black spots with an iridecent hologram effect!

I love all the glitters in this kit but the red could have had a more intense hologram effect to it.  It's very bright and pretty, like Ruby Slippers.  Black and orange would make great basic Halloween colors.  Black and white is very Dalmation puppy!

Nail Caviar: Cruella De Vil's nail caviar is made of red and silver.  I'm loving this color combination.  I imagine it would look great on the tips of shiny black nails, very De Vil if you ask me.

Overall Opinion:  Another awesome kit from KISS!

Should you get it?:  Yes!  If you want red/black white colors or want your nails to look like tiny puppies walked all over them.

Disney Villains Nail Art Kit Review - Ursula

I picked up another Disney Villain nail art kit from Walgreens for $9.99!  Ursula!

Brand: KISS

The nail look they suggest is a base of pure white, diagonal silver foil tape, and two different types of glitters.   You can paint a base coat of two different blue shades before adding the silver foil tape glitter on top.

Lots of pretty blue glitter!

Pretty colors!

The nail stickers are black and white.  The purple background is just packaging, a thin piece of cardboard.  The nail stickers are so awesome!  There's lacy designs, coral, seaweed, flowers, and snail shells.

White/Lavender: This glitter appears to be white but it's full of iridescent lavender squares.
Multi Medium Blue:  A medium shade of blue that's packed full of rainbow hologram glitter!
Turquoise: This is a super bright turquoise glitter made up of hexagons.  It has a 3D hologram effect to it that reflects greens/blues, this one reminds me of sparkly fish scales.
Purple: This isn't just a purple, it's a gorgeous sparkly lavender purple with tiny pink/green sparkles.
Light Turquoise: This is lighter more seaweed type of turquoise color.  It's made up of iridescent diamond shapes.
Bright Blue/Violet:  This glitter is so intense it looks blue in some light and looks violet in others.  It's very dark and almost shadowy, it would look great on a dark polish color.  It's made up of tiny hexagons.

Nail Caviar: Ursula's nail caviar is made of red and blue.  I'm not sure what this reminds me of in the Disney movie.  To me it's slightly disappointing.  I'd much rather have purple and black or some other colors.

Overall Opinion:  Another awesome kit from KISS!
Should you get it?:  Yes!  If you don't like blues/purples try the Evil Queen or the Cruella de Vil nail kit.

Disney Villains Makeup Look Book Review - Evil Queen

I found this at Walgreens for $9.99!  I picked this up the same day as the nail kit that I reviewed recently.  As far as the look books go they have the same villains as the nail kits.  There's the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil, Ursula, and Maleficent.  Again, very pretty packaging with the matching watercolor graphics.

The book is made of a thin cardboard but it's made well.  The side is labeled, "Evil Queen" and has a cute graphic of a poison apple in a metallic red finish.  If you collect them all they would make a really pretty display on a shelf all lined up or stacked up on top of each other.

The books opens to show all the makeup goodies inside underneath a thin plastic sheet.  There's instructions for both a day look (left) and a night look (right.)

Day Look:
Step 1To ensure that you're looking beautifully evil all day long, apply a thin coat of the eye primer to the eyelid and blend in.  Allow the formula to dry fully prior to applying eyeshadows.
Step 2:  Apply the lightest eyeshadow color "huntsman" to the brow bone and to the inner corner of the eye to create a stunning highlight.
Step 3:  Blend the mid-toned eyeshadow color "jealousy" onto the eyelid from lash line to crease to define the eye.
Step 4:  Apply the darkest eyeshadow color "majesty" to the outer 1/3 of the eyelid and crease blending as you go and building the color gradually to contour.
Step 5:  To finish off your look, apply the lip color to complete your gorgeously luscious look.

Night Look:
Step 1:  To create a look that will keep you looking deviously charming into the late hours of the night, apply a thin coat of the eye primer to the eyelids and blend in.  Allow the formula to try fully prior to applying eyeshadow.
Step 2:  Apply the lightest eyeshadow color "witch" to the brow bone and inner corner of the eye to highlight.
Step 3:  Blend the mid-toned eyeshadow color "vanity" onto the eyelid from the lash line to the crease to define the eye.
Step 4:  Apply the deeper eyeshadow color "dark magic" to the outer 1/3 of the eyelid and crease, blending as you go and building the color gradually.  Blend a thin line along the bottom lash line to create a smoky darkness and depth to the eye.
Step 5:  Using the liquid eyeliner, apply a thin line along the base of the upper lash line for a radiant effect.
Step 6:  To finish off your look, apply the lip color to complete your daringly dramatic look.

Includes:
Evil Queen eyeshadow palette
Liquid eyeliner in black
Mascara in black
Eyeliner pencil in black
Eyeshadow brush
Lipgloss
Eye primer

Brand: e.l.f.

Huntsman: Shimmery/Sheer/Microglitter, golden vanilla (highlight)
I have very light skin so this shade hardly shows up at all besides a slight shimmer.  That's great for me because it works well to blend other colors out and create a highlight without it looking too obvious.
Jealousy: Shimmery/Microglitter caramel brown
This would work great all over the lid as it's more of a middle toned shade.
Majesty: Shimmery/Microglitter golden taupe
This color appears to be gold toned but it's definitely not gold, it's more of a taupey brown.  It would work well on the lid or even in the crease.  I really like this one a lot.
Witch: Matte warm grey with an almost purplish undertone
The first word that comes to my mind when I swatched this color was, "smoke."  I'm going to use this color to slightly smudge my eyeliner to create that smoky look.  This shade looks perfect for that but it could also be used as a lid color or a crease color depending on what kind of look you're going for.  It could also be used to fill in your eyebrows if you want them really dark.
Vanity: Matte brown (could also be used to fill in the eyebrows)
This shade is pretty basic but still pretty and useful when combined with the other shades in this palette.
Dark Magic: Shimmery/Purple microglitter, deep plum
This shade is a dark plum more of a red/violet based purple.  It shows up pretty dark almost grey.  If you're looking for a bright intense violet this isn't it, this is more of a neutral toned purple.  This one is best for contouring the crease because it's the darkest color in the palette.

Overall, the Evil Queen palette is for a warm neutral type of look.

I tried really hard to photograph these swatches but they just don't want to show up on my camera and end up looking a lot lighter/washed out than they really are in real life.  Don't let my photo deceive you, the colors are warm and light but pigmented enough to where you can create some really pretty natural looks.  You definitely need to build up the color though especially if you want to go darker.  Also, if you're familiar with e.l.f. eyeshadows then you know that they can be a bit crumbly.  But for $9.99 I'm not complaining.  It helps to hold a tissue against your cheek underneath your eye when applying these shadows to prevent fallout getting on your face.

The pencil is black but as you can see it's almost a dark brown.  I'll still use this pencil, possibly as an eyebrow pencil, but I have pencils that show up much darker and blacker than this one.  The liquid eyeliner is also in black.  The brush on the eyeliner is very thin and flexible which is great for control and fine details.  I also noticed that the liquid eyeliner doesn't flake.  I still need to test these out more though to see how well they hold up.

The last two items in the kit are the eye primer and the lipgloss.  I've personally been using the full sized tubes of eye primer from the e.l.f. website for a long time and they work amazingly well!  It dries to a matte finish and keeps your eyeshadow from creasing up.  I would never apply eyeshadow without using eye primer first, it's really so important.  The eyeshadows are neutrals so it makes sense that they give you a really bright intense lipgloss.  To me it looks like hotpink, not my favorite color to wear on my lips.  I'm not even sure if I'm going to use this color because I'm more into lighter pink shades.

Overall Opinion:  I love this look book and I hope to get the others in the collection.  I like the eyeshadow colors a lot and can't wait to try them out.  I'll have to update later.  The colors in it are warm, pretty, and shimmery.  I like that they give you everything you need and for a reasonable price.

Should You Get It?: If you can't resist the cute packaging, are looking for some pretty neutrals, love the Evil Queen, or want to buy yourself a Halloween goodie just for fun or a gift for someone than you should definitely pick this up.

Disney Villains Nail Art Kit Review - Evil Queen

I found this at Walgreens for $9.99!  They also have nail art kits for Maleficent, Ursula, and Cruella De Vil.  Each kit has their own unique colors so it''ll be hard to only choose one.  They were on a display with a bunch of other matching Disney Villain items.  They had makeup bags, matching Villain Look Books from E.L.F., matching eyelash kits, and matching hair elastics.  The gorgeous watercolor artwork of the Disney Villains is to die for.  If they made art prints I'd definitely hang them up on my walls.  I love watercolor painting and these images are minimalistic but at the same time colorful and strikingly stunning, almost too pretty for simple packaging.  I chose the Evil Queen because I'm having a Snow White obsession at the moment.

How To Use!

Flatbrush: Use to create unique designs or gather glitter to lay onto nails with precision.
Foil Tape: Create accented patterns and shapes or outline polished nail designs. (gold)

Brand: KISS

The packaging has a clear window to see all the goodies inside.  I love the graphic of the poison apple.  The top flap gives you an idea for an Evil Queen nail look using black, white, and purple nail polish, gold tape, and rhinestones.

Sparkly!

Here's everything all laid out except for the gold tape (oops!), it's inside of the plastic sleeve with the clear rhinestones.

The nail stickers are awesome and show a variety of images from Snow White.  There's the face in the mirror, a poison apple, skulls, crows, and lacy designs with faux silver rhinestones.  The background is actually clear it's just on top of a piece of black paper.

My favorite part of the kit is the glitter!

Brown: finely textured warm brown glitter.
Black: My favorite!  A crazy blend of holo/rainbow black microglitter with diamond shapes.  It sparkles like crazy!  3D effect.
Gold: gold microglitter with iridescent hexagon shapes.
Orange: Second favorite! The orange is intense and has an iridescent 3D rainbow effect to it.  It's really bright and sparkly!
Pink: My least favorite is this coraly/pink colored glitter.  To me it just feels like it doesn't belong in this kit.  There's pink microglitter with iridescent squares.
Red: finely textured red glitter.

Out of all of the glitters the only ones that I'd consider to be 3D/HD are the black and orange.  The other colors are very pretty but kind of basic to me.

Nail Caviar:  The nail caviar is a mix of super tiny gold and red beads.  The mix reminds me of a caramel apple!

Overall Opinion:  This nail kit is awesome!  You get a lot of stuff to play with here.  I've never tried nail caviar before so I'm really curious about it.  The stickers peel off/stick on really well and after I sealed it with the top coat I could hardly feel the edges at all.  The rhinestones are clear and really tiny and they stick very as long as you seal around it with topcoat.  You get a ton of gold foil tape and lots of glitter to play with.  All you need is time, patience, and creativity!

Should you get it?:  Yes!
